Horticultural Society
About the Society
St Dunstan’s Horticultural Society has existed for many years and is one of the few remaining local horticultural societies. It is a group of people brought together by an interest in all aspects of gardening, from growing to composting, from science to conservation, from traditional methods to exploring new approaches. It is open to anyone who shares this interest in gardening in its many forms.
The Society also has responsibility for managing three allotment sites on behalf of Canterbury City Council; Victoria Park, Whitehall and Mandeville.

Monthly Meetings
Meetings take place at the ARCA Hall 151 Ashford Road Thannington Without Canterbury CT1 3XR This is and opportunity to socialize with other members and visitors whilst also benefiting from the knowledge of the guest speakers talking on a variety of subjects. As well as refrehments there is a raffle and some light hearted rivalry in the vegetable and floral art competitions.


Annual Show
The Show is held on the second Saturday in September at the ARCA hall. It is organized and run by volunteers from the Society. It is an open event giving the opportunity for people , both young and old members and non-members of the Society to demonstrate their skills and expertise in horticulture, baking and crafts. There is a raffle, refreshments and items for sale. The event ends with prize giving for the show’s competitions and any other annual awards.


Outings & Annual Dinner
There are two organized outings per year. April and September to places of horticultural interest.
The annual dinner is open to all Society members and is held in the second half of November


Society Shop
The shop is situated on Victoria Park Allotment site on the Rheims Way, Canterbury. It is open to all Society Members for a wide range of gardening supplies at competitive prices.
